History
Rice Home Medical started on June 1, 1988 as a single location with 3 employees. Today we are in 5 locations with over 60 employees providing for our customers home medical equipment needs.
Accreditation
RHM is accredited by HQAA (Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation). Accreditation means RHM meets all of the Medicare supplier standards and required business standards. Our accreditation is renewed every three years; this accreditation is maintained by monthly review of company policies and procedures by HQAA ACT program.
License
Rice Home Medical has all 5 locations licensed through the MN Board of Pharmacy. This license is required to dispense home oxygen.
Our Staff
RHM employs over 60 highly qualified individuals to:

- Highly trained and knowledgeable customer service representatives
- Friendly and efficient delivery and set-up of equipment technicians
- Licensed staff to meet clinical needs of customers and serve as resources to physicians and nurses
- Top notch repair department and inventory control
- Certified staff for complex rehabilitation products such as power wheelchairs with specialized seating
- Expert billing staff for timely insurance filing
- Incredible support staff in administration
- Leadership provided by the management and executive team
- Licensed staff includes: 3 LPN’s,
- 2 respiratory care practitioners,
- Certified fitters at 4 of the 5 locations to serve women’s health needs,
- 2 certified ATP’s (assistive technology providers) on staff to meet the requirements for providing complex rehabilitation products.

Industry Participation
RHM belongs to MAMES (Midwest Association of Medical Equipment Servers), the regional association for medical equipment providers and actively serves on the board of directors and on several committees. RHM has been a member of the state/regional association for over 20 years.
RHM is a member of the American Association of Homecare (AAH) and is active on committees and councils. Membership in the National association extends over 15 years.
The VGM Group serves as the company’s member service organization. VGM provides purchasing power, in service products, legislative and regulatory assistance, and educational products and services.

The company received the Business of the Year Award in the 1990’s. In 2002, RHM was one of 3 companies recognized as the best performing HME companies in the country.
