Rice Home Medical works with customers in private homes, nursing homes, assisted care centers, group homes, and hospitals. Delivery with complete instructions to customers and caregivers, set-up, pickup and direct shipping for products are always available. Can’t come to one of our locations? Home visits can be arranged.
Our specialized team is on-call for all after business hours and weekend set-up of respiratory equipment along with other emergencies for equipment breakdown or set ups.
Home Oxygen Services
- Delivery of ordered equipment to meet customer’s schedule.
- Work with nurses and physicians for selection of appropriate equipment and required documentation for billing.
- Overnight oximetry services available through contracted IDTF; results directly to the physician.
- Initial follow up customer call within five days to verify understanding of oxygen use.
- Arrange for appropriate oxygen equipment for patient travel anywhere in the country.

- Home visits for compliance of usage, equipment maintenance, and delivery of supplies.

Sleep Apnea Services
- We provide in store setup to allow for choices by patient/customer for their CPAP unit, related mask and supplies
- At home CPAP set-ups can be arranged when necessary
- Extensive follow-up protocol with customers to answer questions, review physician orders and meet Medicare/insurance policies.
- Equipment downloads of CPAP unit and reports to physician
- Assistance provided to customers for physician visits to meet Medicare/insurance medical policies to ensure their payments of necessary equipment and supplies
- Troubleshooting available after hours
- Clinical staff to meet your sleep apnea needs include respiratory care practitioners, nurses and clinical technicians
- Staff provides overview of your sleep study report
- Ongoing phone call program for ease of ordering new supplies. Supplies can be picked up or shipped directly to your home
- Used units available for purchase if a second unit for travel, vacation, etc. would be needed
- Private room for CPAP setups; “everything you wanted to ask, but were afraid to ask” about sleep apnea can be addressed

Specialized Mobility Services
- Our rehabilitation services department includes customer service, inventory-ordering of new wheelchairs and parts for customer owned wheelchairs, repair services, certified ATP (assistive technology practitioners), and our supervisor for oversight and compliance
- Repair services are provided at Madison, Alexandria and Willmar or at your home
- Mobility equipment is provided to meet the customers need and from the physicians order
- Equipment includes specialized walkers, specialty manual wheelchairs, custom ordered power (electric) wheelchairs, standing and transfer equipment
- RHM applies a team approach to meet the customer’s needs. Evaluation for equipment include a physical or occupational therapist, a RHM ATP or trained staff person, the customer, caregiver(s) as appropriate, and the physicians order
- Home assessments per Medicare/insurance requirements are completed to verify the proper equipment has been provided
- Home delivery and follow-up calls are standard practice to avoid problems
- At time of delivery of the wheelchair or specialized equipment, safety, upkeep, maintenance and emergencies are reviewed with the customer
- RHM staff works closely with insurance companies to obtain a prior authorization for specialty wheelchairs and equipment. This allows RHM to inform the customer of any financial responsibilities
- Additional products to assist our customers with their mobility needs include ramps, lifts-vehicle/stair, elevators, and safety bars, benches etc.

Advanced Wound Care Services
- Our products consist of dressings, negative pressure wound pumps, support surfaces (special mattresses for hospital beds), and the new electrochemical low does tissue oxygenation system. (Trans Cu O2)
- Our clinical staff works closely with physicians, nurses and caregivers to provide the right product(s) for wound care
- We can assist the physician to provide all necessary documentation for insurance coverage
- Clinical staff assist nurses and caregivers for correct application of products
- Frequent telephone contact is provided to customer and caregiver to review compliance and trouble shoot to address any potential problems.
